The homestead is a lovely embroidery pattern to follow, and while challenging for a beginner; the end result is worthwhile and very pretty.
I’m missing thread numbers and feel a bit insecure with out them. After a creative life,at my age now(87)I just want to follow instructions!!!
I'm new to embroidery. My first was the houseplants from StitchDoodles that now hangs in pride of place on my wall. Enjoying the SAL, too.
I really enjoyed doing this and learned some great stitches to add to my repertoire. My main complaint is that it includes some non-African animals such as the toucan (S. America) or the red-headed vulture (India). I don’t mean to gripe too much, but I also found the exact source image for the lizard, and it’s just a generic drawing with no relation to a real African species—I’m guessing the same goes for the snake; I don’t think it would have been hard to redesign it to be more realistic for any of these animals. No comment on any of the plants. I added to the zebra’s stripes to make it a tad more naturalistic.
beautiful pattern and fun to do, very pleased
